Board of Adjustment there to serve citizens

To the editor:
I am having a really hard time understanding what happened Feb. 23. Basically, members of the Board of Adjustment kicked the citizens to the curb — local, hard-working citizens. Some that spoke already have health issues.
All of this occurred because a company wants to produce asphalt.

Environment more important than jobs

To the editor:
This letter is in reference to the uproar over the asphalt plant that Elijah Morton of Morton Trucking is trying to open just off Halltown Road and U.S. 17.


I am not at all shocked at the turn of events that has taken place over the asphalt plant that Morton is trying to open in our immediate area. Morton owns land further out in the county where he could move this plant so that it would not disturb the health of the people. I have learned that in this town, it’s not what you know but who you know.
